Imports down 16.73% in four months

QAZVIN – The chairman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administrations here on Monday announced that Iran’s imports in first four months of current Iranian year (started March 20) saw a 16.73 percent drop in terms of weight, when compared to the figure of same period of last year.
IRNA quoted Ardeshir Mohammadi as saying that Iran imported 12.353 million tons of products worth $18 million in the said period of Iranian calendar year.Accounting for 7.41 percent in terms of value and 11.96 percent in terms of weight, gasoline ranked first in country’s imported products.
The official noted that Iran has imported products from the United Arab Emirates, Germany, China, Korea, and Switzerland in the period.
The country exported 13.383 million tons of product valued at $8.312 million, in the same four months, indicating 1.40 and 27.14 percent rise in terms of value and weight respectively.
Iran’s trade balance, excluding crude oil exports, in the first four months of the year faced $12.261 million deficit, Mohammadi added.
Of the country’s total non-oil exports in the period, 9.3 million euros was related to carry-on-luggage exports and 12.64 million euros was exported via border markets, he said
